Still a December to Remember

December often comes wrapped in expectations. Expectations that this would be the year where everything came together. The year goals were accomplished, prayers were answered fully, and life exceeded what we imagined. Yet for many, December arrives carrying the weight of goals that were not completed, prayers that were not answered the way we hoped, and plans that did not unfold on schedule. It becomes easy to look back and focus on what did not happen, what did not arrive, or what still feels unfinished. Even so, in the midst of disappointment, this month can still be a December to remember.
Because while you may not have received everything your heart desired this month or even this year, God gave you exactly what you needed.
What we want often feels loud, urgent, and clear.
What we need usually works quietly, shaping us beneath the surface. Growth does not always announce itself. Healing does not always feel comfortable. Wisdom often comes through moments we never would have chosen
Take a moment and reflect. Can you see the value in where you are right now?
Not where you planned to be.Not where you hoped you would end up.But where you actually are.
This year, God may have revealed things that stretched you. Truths about your heart. Insights about your relationship with Him. Clarity about the hearts of others connected to your life. You may have discovered strength you did not know you had. You may have seen areas where you still need grace, boundaries, or deeper trust in God. You may have learned who is meant to walk with you in this season and who is not.
What did God reveal to you this year about you?
What did He reveal about Himself?
What did He reveal about the people connected to you?
And just as important, how did you receive what He revealed?
Did you resist it?Did you wrestle with it?
Did you grow through it?
Revelation is not only about what God shows us. It is also about how we respond. Transformation comes through humility, reflection, and obedience. Your relationship with God deepens not through perfection, but through honesty and surrender. The same is true for your relationships with others. Clarity brings growth, even when it brings change.
This December does not have to be remembered for what was missing. It can be remembered for what was gained. Awareness. Maturity. Faith. Perspective. Sometimes the greatest gift God gives is the ability to see that even when desires were unmet, He was still faithful.
Let this be a December you remember not for what you lost or lacked, but for what God planted within you.
